ACTIVITIES
Adventure is waiting
There is so much to do at Old Mates Farm. One night is never enough. We have many families returning time and time again because they didn’t have enough time to fit everything in.

Waterfall Walk
Take a walk through the marked trails up to our very own *seasonal waterfall.
Old Mates Farm is fortunate to have a running creek through the property that are campsites are located near. Make sure you pack your swimmers.

Ride your Bike
Old Mates Farm has marked tracks for push bike riding throughout our 160 acre property. Make sure you have room to pack your bikes, you won’t regret it.
We enforce our policy that guests drive their vehicles slowly to enter and exit the property. Making it safe for all.

Camp Fires
Perhaps one of the most memorable times of camping is telling stories around the campfire. Each campsite at Old Mates Farm has a covered fire pit. Bring your own firewood or we can provide it for you (at cost).
Don’t forget your marshmallows!

Yabbie Pots and Fishing Rods
What is your secret bait? Ok, you don’t have to tell us. But don’t forget to pack your yabbie pots and kids fishing rods as Moran Creek and the Barron River have a few surprises (catch & release).

Pin the Tail
OLD MATE loves a game and a good laugh, and what’s better than pin the tail on the buffalo?

Swimming in the Creek
With warm days the creek is a popular spot for a splash. There are many swimming spots around Old Mates Farm. Many within only a few metres of your site.

Play Games
We considered all weather conditions when planning Old Mates Farm. Under the cover of the Barn you will find a range of games that the kids will enjoy.

Feed the Farm Animals
There is an entire page dedicated to the farm animals at Old Mates Farm. The daily animal feeding is perhaps one of the most popular activities.

Screenprint your T-shirt
Now that you have stayed at Old Mates Farm, you are part of the cool club. What better way to show that off than printing your very own Old Mates Farm shirt.
Don’t forget to pack an old shirt to use.

Wildlife Spotting
Old Mates Farm isn’t just about the farm animals, we have lots of Australian Native animals on the property. If you look carefully you may spot them, just like this Tree Kangaroo.

Arboretum
There is over 110 trees that have been identified and marked with signpost labels. We have plans to establish the Deep Dreek Flora & Fauna project with more research into wildlife identification and planting more tree species, including revegetation projects in the riparian areas. Read More about the species on our property.

Horsepower?
Old Mate has a keen interest in collecting Old Trucks, Tractors, Sulkies and Buggies. You’ll find his collection in the Barn and around the tracks on the farm. You may even see him getting around town in his old red truck. More photos are available in the online photo gallery.
